Taskvision was my first big step into Windows programming. I have since gotten fairly comfortable and was able to convert it into a contact management app. However I have added so many functions and learned so much along the way that I think I need someone to check it out and let me know where I've gone off the deep end and where I need to stray much further away from Taskvision (in the beginning I clung to the concepts for dear life).
what I have now is: - a main screen that displays basic contact info with a counter, ie << 10 of 2,000 >> for paging through the contacts
- a drop down that has the 5 main types of contacts with a checked list box underneath that has the sub types (ie, car dealer would be a type, Ford dealer a sub type). choosing a type displays all associated sub types. A user can check 1 - any number of sub types to build a dataset.
- ability to add new subtypes and associate current subtypes to types.
- The ability to create custom distribution lists (not fully implemented)
- ability to search the current dataset on name, city, zip etc, select 1 or all in the results and build a dataset (from Taskvision).
- one touch mail merge to a Word Template.
It doesn't seem like much, but it took me a while. More than anything I learned how to create some nasty stored procs.
I have been doing this for a non profit organization but I don't have anyone to guide me.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Robert
