login problem in windows xp

i am trying to login in windows xp sp2 pc, it get back logoff after login process. i am not able to find my desktop screen.

Press and Hold F8 key while booting into the operating system. Press it as soon as you start computer, would be better.
A menu should appear instead of XP Loading screen.
Use arrow keys and move to the top most option "Safe Mode" and hit Enter.

Once you're in Safe Mode, a dialog should appear.. with some warning, click Yes.
now click Start | Run and type msconfig | hit enter

Navigate to 'Startup' tab in newly opened window.

You should see some entries with checkboxes. Read them and uncheck each and every entry that you think bad. Check path of the file to confirm it.

Apply once your are done and click Ok. Reboot. Should be fine.
