Comport problems

Hello all.

I have a strange problem with handeling the com ports on my system.

I have written a program in VB2008 and I want to use this for sending out data through the serial ports in my system.

When i start the program it will identify the ports and it tells me that i have : Com1, Com2 and Com5 availeble. Com5 is a USB to serial adapter from ATEN.

Everything works just perfect with Com1 and Com2 and i have checked this for a long time, BUT then i try to send the same data to COM5 (USB to serial) it just sends (randomly) a couple of data and then suddenly crashes the system with a reboot.

It realy irritates me and i would like to understand why this happens.

Any suggestions??

Hi,

You may have a try connecting the USB to serial adapter to Com1 and perform a test on the Com1 to see if the problem still exists. You may perform test on another machine.
