I actually like the rule. I think it makes the game more interesting. You have some herbivores that are very aggressive, but don't reproduce well and other herbivores that reproduce like rabbits but are basically passive. BOTH styles have dominated at one point or another which tells me that there is a good balance between the benefits / drawbacks of each technique. Besides, it gives the carnivores an advantage that they really need. Carnivores, naturally, are outnumbered and when you combine that with the "you can only defend against one animal at a time" rule they need some herbivores that can't attack unprovoked in order to survive!
To burn energy quickly, run as far and as fast as you can. If you have a high maximum speed you can burn a lot of energy in a short amount of time. |
