A Terrarium Server is Up and Running at http://207.158.113.70/Terrarium

Enjoy!  I'll try to keep it up as much as possible.

So how did you get it running?

I installed the server (terrarium_server_050506.exe) and I run the install utility.

The database gets created successfully and I can run the clinet against the server.  But when I try to intorduce an animal, I get a large error message:

I have submitted my animal to http://207.158.113.70/Terrarium and my animal works just fine.  It is most likely a setup issue on the server.  Just curious if you had any troubles and any suggestions you have to get this going.  Thanks

Well, my first problem was that I installed the wrong version.  It appears that you did NOT make that mistake.  I've slept since I installed this, so I don't remember what I had to do, but I do recall getting an error like this when I had the wrong version installed.  Best I can remember, I cleared the event log, then got a better error message.  But don't quote me on that.

The only thing I remember having to do (once I installed the correct version) was perform the two fixes posted in this forum "Terrarium 1.2 Server -> Peercount fix" and "Terrarium 1.2 Server -> charts fix".

I am in awe!!!  I cleared my event log and that did it.  Sometimes things can be a bit more perplexing than they need to be.

Thanks for the post.  You are a hero in my world...

Hi David,

Thanks for putting up a server. Unfortunately when I try to introduce creatures I get the same 'The server is experiencing problems. Please try again' message I get with www.terrariumgame.net.

Is it me, or is the server genuinely having a problem? I'm getting teleports in etc. so I'm pretty sure it's not a NAT configuration problem.

Cheers,

Alan

Hi Alan.  Unfortunately I'm not running this on a "server" platform.  I seem to be experiencing some problems related to the number of concurrent connections.  I've been working on an application that may be causing some of the trouble.  I'll see what I can do to mitigate it's impact.  The server is back up and running.  If you experience any more trouble send me a quick email.  Thanks.
