User interface changes are not saved to the form designer class

Hi All,

I have a single UI project (VB) in Visual Studio 2008 Pro. The project has around 50 forms / control (DevExpress) and around the same number of external references.

The problem I have is really inconsistant in that when I make changes to the properties of a component, or add a new component, to a form then close the form the changes are not saved down to the designer class. This is really inconsistant and seems to get exponentionally worse the more complex a form becomes.
At the moment I am having to make a couple of changes at a time otherwise the designer loses those changes.

I have also seen a number if IDE crashed today. There is no dialog the IDE just bombs out.

Has anybody else experienced these issues or can recommend a resolution.

Hello Phil,

There is a hotfix of Visual Studio 2008 SP1 for the symptom that "Whenwe debug in Visual Studio 2008 Service Pack 1, more breakpoints are generated unexpectedly, or the IDE crashes or becomes unresponsive for about 15 seconds":
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/967631

Please download and install it.

Thanks for the update Roahn,

After reading the article I am not really experiencing the that behavior stated in either of the symptoms. But I will try to download and install it.
