Drag and drop doesn't works on design surface

Hi,
Recently I started experiencing weird problem regarding vs C# designer. What is happening is that I can drop control from the toolbox on the design surface by using mouse drag and drop.
If I simply hit enter whilein toolbox, on selected control, control will appear on design surface but I can't move from that position. I can select control, drag at to the position that I want to be on the design surface, but I can't drop it there.
I tried resetting settings by going to Tools-import/export setting and selecting reset all but without luck.
I also tried to export settings from another computer where c# works properly, but againno success.
Any help appritiated!

Hi Sabahudin,

Since I cannot reproduce your problem, I would like to confirm the following things with you.

· If you reboot the operating system to safe mode, do you have the problem? This can help to isolate whether any other applications are interfering with Visual Studio.

· If you create a new user account, do you have the problem? This can help to isolate user profile corruption related causes.

· If you disable Add-ns (e.g. “Tools| “Add-in Manager and run “devenv.exe /safemode do you still have the problem? This can eliminate the possibility that third party Add-ins are causing problems.

· If you create a new project, do you have the problem? Sometimes corrupted project settings can cause problems. These are project specific.

By the way, if you didn’t apply the latest service pack, please apply the service pack.

Hope this helps.
Best regards.

Hi. I recently experienced a similar problem where I could not move controls on a form. The drag operation simply wouldn't start at all.

After playing around a bit I noticed that I couldn't drag/drop in Outlook or Windows Explorer either. A reboot fixed the problem.

Looks like an OS issue. I'm using Windows XP Pro SP2.

I tried the OS safe mode, tried VS safe mode, already checked add ins, created a new user account, and tried a new project. Nothing is fixing this. Additionally, I tried removing Visual studio, all the documents and settings visual studio folders, and everything from the program files, .net 2-3.5.

Then reinstalling.
