Hello,

I am having a problem opening up the designer form1 in Visual Basic express 2008. When I click on any project's form1 (or designer window), a message displays:

The service microsoft.visualstudio.shell.interop.ISeletionContainer already exists in the service container.

Parameter name: service type

I have two computers. Visual basic on my home computer works just fine. It's operating on XP.

I just bought a laptop with Vista and this error above continues to appear. I don't know if the operating system would effect it or if it's a coincidence.

Hey, I had the same error on my laptop running vistahome premium.I found this other message https://forums.microsoft.com/MSDN/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=2778449&SiteID=1with the same error that had a reply with links to 3 updates, now mine loaded the form, have not tried anything else yet. Hope it works for you too!
