Does clickonce work for guest user?

I have deployed a wpf application using clickonce. I have been facing a weird problem. Sometime, clickonce deployment is not working for guest user. However, it is working sometime. When it doesn’t work, it gives the following error:

“Error creating the web proxy specified in the 'system.net/defaultproxy' configuration section. Access to the path 'global\.net clr networking is denied/p>

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Setu

Thanks for your replay.

I am using XP. Clickonce works for Guest accout in a specific scenario. If you follow the following steps, clickonce will work for guest account:

1> 1> Logged in as an administrator.

2> 2> Run the clickonce application. Then you can close the application.

3> 3> Switch to Guest user account.

4> Install the clickonce application from Guest account. It will run!

Very weird scenario. However, it really works.

I'm not sure this will work with a guest account; there have been questions about it before. I assume you're using XP?

If you set up just another account on the machine with an actual username, does THAT work? It seems to me that a guest account just isn't going to have enough privs to run a ClickOnce deployment (just judging from past questions).

There must be something it's setting in the registry or something to make it work for the guest account.

Thanks for letting us know!
